The book can also help pastors to deepen their own values about death, love, sexuality, faithfulness and the radical meaning of life. Even in crisis situations- and perhaps especially then- this book can assist in the discovery of what it means to live and die with hope.
Walter J.Smith, S.J. is a dean of the Wetson School of Theology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was formerly chairperson of the department of psychology at Fairfield University in Connecticut.
